Validators
Who are these people and why you need them
When you send, receive or design your own cryptocoins on the Decimal blockchain, there are memebers working “ behind the scenes “ — validators, and without them all this would be impossible.
Validators are privileged members of the network. Technically, this is a software package. The main responsibility of validators is to store a full copy of blockchain, verify and confirm transactions, generate and sign new blocks, place blocks directly in the blockchain, and generally maintain and organize the operation and security of the entire Decimal network.
If a network member wants to become a validator and is ready to install SOFTWARE (masternode) on his hardware, he will receive a reward for each signed block. Currently, the reward for a block is 50 DEL; over time, the reward will grow according to the issue schedule.
The process of starting and maintaining a masternode is described in detail in the instructions and does not require high qualifications, and therefore businessmen become validators more often than technical specialists.
There will be a maximum of 64 validators for the Decimal blockchain. Only 4 validators can be added each month. You can submit your candidacy in the console in the “Masternode” section.
Validators are selected depending on the number of stakes (DPoS mechanism), that is, the more network tokens a candidate has, the more likely it is that they will be chosen for this position.
We will speak about other roles in the Decimal blockchain in the following materials.
